ONE-D

Trinity Square Video is pleased to announce the presentation of ONE-D, the first of TSV’s Themed Commission trilogy, ONE-D, TWO-D, THREE-D. This first of the commissioning series asked artists to expand the single channel experience into one that incorporates performance, and the results are in! Come join us for the public presentation of this exciting new work.

ONE-D presents work that challenges the conventions of spectatorship, the viewing space and the audience. Working at the intersection of performance and video, ONE-D explores a participatory and performative cinema beyond the projected image. These five artists use the body to expand the limits of video, body and gesture. They blur the boundary between image and presence, exploring acts of doubling that trouble the polemics of memory, loss, absence and otherness.

“In the age of the digital and the virtual and the mediated experience, there is something very visceral about watching live performance.”
Chief Curator Donna De Salvo, the Whitney Museum
