TSV will morph into a “Gay Bar” on the evening of June 7, 2013.
In the gallery, two walls facing each other are covered by video projections. On one wall a succession of men are posing alone next to a pool table at Touché, Chicago’s oldest leather bar. There are six men of different ages, styles, body types and races. On the opposite wall, five men are posing. The men appear to be cruising each other from opposite sides of a virtual bar.
Moffet’s piece The Faithful is an examination of men cruising men from projections facing each other across the gallery. We thought it fitting to hang a mirror ball, serve some drinks and get us some fancy music.
All are welcome at the TSV ART BAR, there will be an engaging discussion about The FAITHFUL(described above) and Moffet’s other piece in the exhibition POSTFACE (winner of the Gus Van Sant Award for Experimental Film at the Ann Arbour Film Fest).
