Manage all production equipment requirements, including rentals, repairs, and new purchases.
Provide training and instruction on equipment to members and programming artists.
Support Outreach, Post-Production, and Gallery Manager in logistical planning
Production Rental Management:
Answer general telephone inquiries about current TSV policies, information and programming and refer callers to appropriate staff persons if necessary.
Keep production booking register up to date and revise as changes occur.
Assemble or configure equipment orders in good working condition for scheduled production bookings.
Ascertain that members can properly operate and set up equipment prior to their removing it from TSV; provide training to members who need it.
Review equipment with the members when they pick up equipment to ensure that the member has sufficient and appropriate equipment for their production needs.
Ensure members sign and understand rental contracts for each booking.
Prepare and process invoices.
Ensure payment is received when equipment is picked up (unless other payment arrangements have been arranged and approved in consultation with the Executive Director).
Test equipment when returned to ensure that it has been returned in good working condition with all parts and accessories. In the event of equipment damage or missing parts, arrange for member to restore or replace these items at member’s expense.
Make adjustments to member accounts for late returns or credits, and collect outstanding amounts upon the return of the equipment.
Educational and Technical Duties
Provide production equipment instruction and consultation to members when requested.
Assist programming artists with technical requirements and training.
Assist in set up and execution of TSV events, such as openings, tech nights, workshops, and other such programmed events.
Send faulty equipment for repair when necessary. Obtain quotes for repair and assess the advisability of equipment repair options.
Keep Executive Director and other staff informed about equipment operations and rental/technical issues
Update TSV website equipment inventory on an as needed basis – ensure technical specs and rental prices are accurate.
Update Communications team on gear, membership activities, community events for social media and website.
Communication and Code of Conduct:
Adhere to all Trinity policies and procedures.
Respond to public and member inquiries in a friendly and informative manner.
Maintain positive and cordial relationships with all staff, support personnel, members and community individuals.
Communicate with the Executive Director and other staff to ensure a productive and positive team.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner.
Board and committee meetings are attended as required.
Adhere to weekly work schedule and cleaning schedule, monitor lieu time and adjust as is necessary.
Internship and Volunteer Opportunities
Trinity Square encourages post-secondary students interested in video art to apply for internships at the centre. Trinity Square also welcomes volunteers from the community. For those facing barriers, financial, systemic, physical or mental accommodations are made. We compensate volunteers (excluding Board members) through in kind credits equal to $15/hr.
