Intermediate XR (VR / AR)

XR is commonly understood for either eXpanded Reality, or by using the X as a variable for a letter corresponding to whichever buzzword is trending at the moment: Virtual, Augmented, Mixed, Social, etc. This workshop attempts to demystify the technological, ideological, and conceptual foundations of XR, which has long been considered emergent though has yet to emerge as the next Guttenberg, transistor, television, internet, or whatever rupturous media it has been compared to.
Be introduced to practices of creating XR in Unity for a variety of platforms, with a focus on utilizing Unity's animation system. You will look at mobile, web, and headset platforms for delivering XR content.
Participants will find this course helpful if they have experience with Unity and/or 3D or 2D animation, and ideally have access to a computer with Unity to work during and outside of class. Computers may be provided by TSV, but to get the most out of this class participants will be suggested work to do in between classes.
