Trinity Square Video is proud to announce that we will be hosting Maiko Tanaka for a Curatorial Research Residency. Her research is inspired by sci-fi feminisms, afrofuturist storytelling, and posthuman approaches to an ethics of encounter. Maiko is a curator based in Toronto. She has held curatorial positions at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery and InterAccess in Toronto, as well as Casco – Office for Art, Design, and Theory in Utrecht. In 2013 she was a columnist for the now defunct FUSE Magazine, and co-edited two publications: The Grand Domestic Revolution Handbook published by Casco and Valiz, and Model Minority, published by Gendai in collaboration with the Publication Studio. She currently serves on the board and programming committee of Gendai as well as on the editorial advisory board of C Magazine.
